Many people across our nation have never heard of Teton County, Wyoming, but more than likely, they have heard of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The Teton County Sheriff’s Office essentially polices all of Jackson Hole, so you can imagine the beauty and privilege of working in an environment that is the best the United States has to offer. Teton County is a year round resort community, located in the northwestern corner of Wyoming.  It serves as the southern gateway to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowston National Park and is home to three world class ski resorts. Teton County is 4216

square miles with approximately 97% of the land within the county’s border held in public ownership-National Parks, National Elk Refuge and Bridger Teton National Forest and Targhee National forest.  Teton County is a unique place to live and work, offering many outdoor recreational activities, abundant wildlife and open spaces, fine dining and premier cultural arts offerings.  2021 marks the centennial for Teton County.  Part of Teton County is only accessible by Teton Pass and over 20 miles through Idaho.  We share law enforcement duties with Jackson Police Department, National Park Rangers, National Forest Rangers, National Elk Refuge Rangers, Wyoming Highway Patrolman, US Fish and Wildlife Officers and Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigations Agents.

Teton County Sheriff’s Office has 76 fulltime employees.  We have our Sheriff and two Lieutenants,  a Communications Center and staff, the Teton County Jail and staff, Patrol staff, Investigations staff, Information Technology staff, Front Desk staff, Search and Rescue, Court Security staff, Training Sergeant, Executive Assistant, Civil Process, Treatment Court/Alternative to Incarceration Coordinator and a School Resource Deputy.

DISPATCH:  Our Communications Center consists of four stations with sixteen budgeted positions which includes the Communications Manager, Communications Supervisors, Lead Dispatchers and Emergency Dispatchers.  Currently, the team is working either a four/ten shift or a three/twelve plus 4 hour shift. 

JAIL:  Our Detention Center has seven blocks with forty five beds and eighteen budgeted positions to include Detention Sergeants, Detention Corporals and Detention Officers and Deputies.   Currently the team is working three/twelve one week and four/twelve the following week.

PATROL:  Our Patrol Division has nineteen budgeted positions with Patrol Sergeants, Patrol Corporals and Patrol Deputies.   Currently the team is working four/tens.

INVESTIGATIONS:  We have a five person Investigations Unit which includes an Investigations Sergeant, two permanent Detectives, a rotating Detective and the School Resource Deputy.
