I hereby request a copy of the below described Teton County
Sheriff’s Office report(s). With this request, I understand the Teton County
Sheriff’s Office will make a reasonable effort to comply with the Wyoming
Public Records Act.
The disclosure of law enforcement investigative reports may be contrary to the
public interest. The reasons vary from case to case. Disclosure of some
reports, prior to adjudication of the case could jeopardize the successful
conclusion of the case. Disclosure of these reports would amount to dereliction
of duty by the Sheriff’s Office and therefore these reports will not be
released, at the discretion of the Sheriff’s Office.
The following information will not be released: Reports
that involve criminal history records, records pertaining to minors, records of
sexual assault investigations or records obtained through a 911 emergency
telephone system. The decision to disclose or refrain from disclosing the
investigative reports or parts thereof is a matter of Sheriff’s Office
discretion.
Additionally, Sheriff’s Office files may include confidential information, such
as medical records, coroner’s reports, confidential reports issued by other
agencies or companies and individuals. Evidence, personal information of people
or corporations who have contributed documents or information to aid the
investigation will not be released without a court order.
